Vemco Goes Green
Vemco is in the process of developing policies and programs that promote sustainability through
conservation of energy and water and other natural resources. We continually strive to make our
workplace as environmentally friendly as possible. We will continue our efforts by looking for
new, innovative ways to act as good global citizens.
Vemco supports the 3 R's
Reduce
- Reduce paper use through electronic distribution of educational materials where appropriate
- Reduce energy use by shutting down computers, computer monitors, and lights when not in use
- Reduce fossil fuel use through telecommuting. Two-thirds of Vemco employees work from home
- Use durable products in place of disposables wherever possible
- Provide water stations instead of water bottles at live meetings
Reuse
- Reuse of meeting badges, tent cards, signage, and other materials
- Double-sided use of paper
- Ceramic mugs for tea and coffee
- Reuse of boxes and packing materials
Recycle
- Use FSC-certified paper for invitations and other print jobs
- Recycle paper and printer cartridges
- Recycle glass and plastics
- Purchase recycled paper and other products made of recycled materials
Tip – Don’t water your lawn on windy days. Up
to 300 gallons of water can be lost through evaporation in just one watering!
Tip – A leaky faucet that drips just one
drop per second wastes 2,700 gallons of water per year.
